Note: I am not one to panic over the things I read. I do become more alarmed. I also become better acquainted with the power of discernment. I feel like I have a pretty good grip on reality without going to toward either extreme. But the way things have been going with our present leadership, we seem to be heading for a world of hurt.
Thomas Sowell is one of my favorite writers. He knows how to dive into the issues and come out with a reasonable perspective on things. Read his article carefully. We should not panic yet, but if things do not change with the 2010 elections, panic city here we come.

Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent?
Did you think that another "czar" would be talking about restricting talk radio? That there would be plans afloat to subsidize newspapers-- that is, to create a situation where some newspapers' survival would depend on the government liking what they publish?
Did you imagine that anyone would even be talking about having a panel of so-called "experts" deciding who could and could not get life-saving medical treatments?
Scary as that is from a medical standpoint, it is also chilling from the standpoint of freedom. If you have a mother who needs a heart operation or a child with some dire medical condition, how free would you feel to speak out against an administration that has the power to make life and death decisions about your loved ones?
Does any of this sound like America?
How about a federal agency giving school children material to enlist them on the side of the president? Merely being assigned to sing his praises in class is apparently not enough.
How much of America would be left if the federal government continued on this path? President Obama has already floated the idea of a national police force, something we have done without for more than two centuries.
We already have local police forces all across the country and military forces for national defense, as well as the FBI for federal crimes and the National Guard for local emergencies. What would be the role of a national police force created by Barack Obama, with all its leaders appointed by him? It would seem more like the brown shirts of dictators than like anything American.
How far the President will go depends of course on how much resistance he meets. But the direction in which he is trying to go tells us more than all his rhetoric or media spin.
Barack Obama has not only said that he is out to "change the United States of America," the people he has been associated with for years have expressed in words and deeds their hostility to the values, the principles and the people of this country.
Jeremiah Wright said it with words: "God damn America!" Bill Ayers said it with bombs that he planted. Community activist goons have said it with their contempt for the rights of other people.
Among the people appointed as czars by President Obama have been people who have praised enemy dictators like Mao, who have seen the public schools as places to promote sexual practices contrary to the values of most Americans, to a captive audience of children.
Those who say that the Obama administration should have investigated those people more thoroughly before appointing them are missing the point completely. Why should we assume that Barack Obama didn't know what such people were like, when he has been associating with precisely these kinds of people for decades before he reached the White House?
Nothing is more consistent with his lifelong patterns than putting such people in government-- people who reject American values, resent Americans in general and successful Americans in particular, as well as resenting America's influence in the world.
Any miscalculation on his part would be in not thinking that others would discover what these stealth appointees were like. Had it not been for the Fox News Channel, these stealth appointees might have remained unexposed for what they are. Fox News is now high on the administration's enemies list.
Nothing so epitomizes President Obama's own contempt for American values and traditions like trying to ram two bills through Congress in his first year-- each bill more than a thousand pages long-- too fast for either of them to be read, much less discussed. That he succeeded only the first time says that some people are starting to wake up. Whether enough people will wake up in time to keep America from being dismantled, piece by piece, is another question-- and the biggest question for this generation.
Comments: Did you notice some of the panic buttons? Let me list a few:
1. Unelected czars cutting people’s pay by as much as 90 percent.
2. Chosen officials deciding who lives and who dies.
3. Schools being inundated with political material as a form of propaganda.
4. A National Police Force
5. Our president seeking to “change America.” He is doing a good job of it.
6. People running this country that have heroes who are communists.
7. An administration that goes after a news firm as a way to silence and intimidate
The landscape is changing. If Christians do not rise up and if conservatives do not voice themselves in a civil and respectful manner, the great landscape of America will be totally different than what the Founding Fathers had envisioned.
So it is time to panic? Not yet. But it is time to get serious and pray and become personally acquainted with the truth.

Jesus With His Lights Turned Off on Halloween
Note: Halloween seems to be the time when Christians ask themselves and each other, “Should I participate in Halloween or not? And if I do, will I begin the slippery slope into Satanism?”
Michael Patton has a wonderful way with words. He is an astute student of theology and loves to blog. I liked his article below especially the part where Jesus said, “Suffer not the children to come to me” (Matt. 19:14). Halloween is one of those times where children are knocking on our doors and we tend to turn off the lights. Something is not right about that picture.

Will is dressing up as a ghost for Halloween. I was shocked. He has his Indiana Jones costume that he wears everywhere. I thought at least he would choose the Storm Trooper costume. I have given up on him being a superhero (Batman, Vigilante, Green Lantern, or any other DC character). Sigh… but a Ghost? Where did that come from?
My Fundamentalist right pinky toe started to speak.
Toe: “You know what is going to happen if he dresses up as a Ghost.”
Me: “No, what?”
Toe: “Satan.”
Me: “Say what?”
Toe: “Satan will have a foothold. You and your family will have compromised to evil.”
Me: “How so. I don’t get it?”
Toe: “Ghosts are demons. Or at least they are demonic. Therefore, your son is taking his first step toward practicing demonology. It is a form of Satan worship.”
Me: “Say what?”
Toe: “Exactly, you have already compromised and you don’t recognize it. Next thing you know, Katelynn and Kylee will be dressing up as witches.”
Me: “To what end?”
Toe: “What?”
Me: “To what end? So what? Who cares?”
Toe: “I want a new master. You can just go watch Harry Potter for all I care.”
Yes, then there is that. Christians on Halloween. Scared to celebrate. Some with more than their pinky toe doing the talking. You know the ones. They are the only ones in the neighborhood who have their lights turned off. “Oh, here come the kids. They are going to come to our door. If we open it, we will have compromised and, in effect, told them that Satan is my friend, that Satan is my pal. Turn off the lights and HIDE! It is the only Christian thing to do.“
Ahem…please. Help us.
I can’t believe I am going to say this but, WWJD? Really, what would Jesus do? Can you see it? Jesus with his lights turned off on Halloween? That would be the Jesus history never knew. That would be the Jesus of western fundamentalism. The one who is not a friend of sinners and tax gatherers. The Jesus that was never accused of being a drunkard. The Jesus who looked from a distance at the wedding of Cana waiting for the sinners to wipe the dust off their feet before he talked to them. The Jesus who saw a child dressed up as a Ghost and said, “I can’t take this anymore. It is not worth it. Give me that stone so that I can turn it into bread.”
Mark Young, my friend and former missions prof at DTS (now the president of Denver Seminary), used to talk about this in his missions 101 class. Oh the shame of all of us students who turned off the light. We left the class crying looking for little witches and ghosts to hug. His thesis: Christians are not Christians on Halloween. Not because they have compromised and participated, but precisely because they don’t participate. The one day of the year where children (”Permit them to come to me…” Mark 10:14) were attempting to come to us and we shut the door and turn off the lights. We left the class in tears and began to plan what we were going to be for Halloween.
Toe (yes, I’m back): “But…but…but…It is not about the lights being on. Its not about giving out candy. Its about participating in the evil deeds of darkness. Don’t you know the roots of Halloween?”
Give me a break. Who have you been reading? Whoever it is, stop. First of all, how many kids do you know that are into witchcraft, Satan worship, or necromancy? What happened? Your eight-year-old was walking down the street in her witch costume and thought to herself: “I suddenly feel myself tempted to say a chant and worship Satan”?
Toe: No, it happens subtly. You know, like with Harry Potter.”
Yeah, that is right. In twenty-first century America, I can see how much satanism has grown because of Harry Potter and Halloween. Witchcraft is the primary thing that young kids are having to recover from. Its not sexual promiscuity, its not our greed or materialism, its not moms and dads who can’t demonstrate commitment and love, its not a compromise of the Gospel. Its witchcraft. Its our kids becoming ghosts on Halloween.
Sorry. Will is going to be a ghost. You can turn off your lights.
(Oh, and one more thing. Don’t just give out tracts…Shame, shame. Give out the best candy in the neighborhood. Let people know that you are the house that is not cheap.)

I'm Confused

Cancer Society, in Shift, Has Concerns on Screenings

The American Cancer Society, which has long been a staunch defender of most cancer screening, is now saying that the benefits of detecting many cancers, especially breast and prostate, have been overstated.
It is quietly working on a message, to put on its Web site early next year, to emphasize that screening for breast and prostate cancer and certain other cancers can come with a real risk of overtreating many small cancers while missing cancers that are deadly.
“We don’t want people to panic,” said Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the cancer society. “But I’m admitting that American medicine has overpromised when it comes to screening. The advantages to screening have been exaggerated.”
I have always been told that early detection was the way to go in terms of both detecting cancer and fighting it. But it now seems not to be the case. The article goes on to mention that with early screening, there are a couple of risks involved. First, there is the risk of being over diagnosed. You may have a type of cancer that could go away on its down. Treatment would therefore be both costly in time and money. And then there is the possibility of being under diagnosed. Here cancer is discovered but not necessarily viewed as problematic. A person goes home and then comes back in a few months in worse shape.
Dr. Esserman stated that, “Someone may say, ‘I don’t want to be screened.’” “Another person may say, ‘Of course I want to be screened.’ Just like everything in medicine, there is no free lunch. For every intervention, there are complications and problems.”
As I read this report and all that I have been taught in the past, I quickly went to James 1:6: “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” “Should I get screened or shouldn’t I? I’m confused!”
Well, I know of people who have gotten screened early and it saved their lives. I also know of others who have been killed by the cancer treatment itself.
You know what I think may be involved here? With this article (and there will be more like it coming down the pike), we are seeing a preview of what Universal Heathcare will be like. Now we know it will be costly. And if the government is going to cut cost in order to keep the program going, it will have to do so by cutting “services” such as cancer screenings to some degree.
It has been estimated that Universal Heathcare with a public option (and it will have a public option or it will not be universal), will cost well over a trillion dollars, maybe close to two.
Now our total national debt is already approaching 12 trillion. You want to know how much money is a “trillion?”
Here is an example for you. Let’s say that you had your own personal business during the days of Jesus Christ. And your business would remain open 24/7. While it remained open, it lost one million dollars a day – every day. Let’s say that this lost of one million dollars a day continued until the present – some two thousand years later. You would still need to add another 700 years from now on top of the 2000 years, losing one million dollars a day to arrive at one trillion dollars.
Universal healthcare will cost over a trillion dollars. Cost will no doubt have to be cut. And with the cost of healthcare being cut, so will the services. Therefore, cancer screening for early detection. . .well, it’s not all that important, really!
In fact, did you notice the phrase, “It is quietly working on a message. . .?” What does that mean, “quietly?” Could it mean that doctors who made a lot of money by encouraging people to go get early cancer tests and screening whether they needed it or not, will know longer have that luxury. As a result, more people will find themselves with advance stages of cancer and add to the health care system and even greater cost. Thus, Universal Health Care will solve one problem (getting everyone insured) and open up another problem (more cancer related incidents).
Folks, all I am trying to point out is this: These are times to focus your life and vision for the future, not on what Uncle Sam can do for you, but God. These are times to look at preventative ways to become and remain healthy and not wait until it’s too late. These are times to take charge and control over your health and not let someone else do it.
Are you eating rightly? Are you over-eating? Are you exercising? Are you filling your mind with God’s Word? Are you taking personal responsibility by taking care of God’s temple (your body)? If the Lord were to care for you in the same way you care for your body, would you be better off? Just thinking.

Dealing With An Imagined Crisis
I woke up this morning, got my cup of organic decaf coffee and a slice of organic fudge brownie, turned on Foxnews and heard the following: Obama Declares H1N1 Flu 'National Emergency. The White House says the declaration allows medical treatment facilities to better handle a surge in flu patients by waiving federal requirements on a case-by-case basis.
President Obama signed a proclamation declaring the H1N1 influenza a national emergency, giving doctors and medical facilities greater leeway in responding to the flu pandemic.

I shook my head and laughed. Unbelievable and very predictable. And just a day before we were told by CBS news that there is no HINI emergency.
In case you missed reading about this, let me show you what CBS had written.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states on their main flu Web site http://www.cdc.gov/flu/ that flu activity is increasing in the United States, with most states reporting "widespread influenza activity."
The CDC goes on to say, quote:
"So far, most flu is 2009 H1N1 flu (sometimes called "swine flu")."
But wait. A three-month-long investigation by CBS News, released earlier this week that included state-by-state test results, revealed some very different facts. The CBS study found that H1N1 flu cases are NOT as prevalent as feared. A CBS article even states:
"If you've been diagnosed "probable" or "presumed" 2009 H1N1 or "swine flu" in recent months, you may be surprised to know this: odds are you didn't have H1N1 flu. In fact, you probably didn't have flu at all."
Obviously CBS News and the CDC are completely contradicting each other. So who is right?
Well, CBS reports that in late July 2009 the CDC advised states to STOP testing for H1N1 flu, and they also stopped counting individual cases.
Their rationale for this, according to CBS News, was that it was a waste of resources to test for H1N1 flu because it was already confirmed as an epidemic.
So just like that virtually every person who visited their physician with flu-like symptoms since late July was assumed to have H1N1, with no testing necessary because, after all, there's an epidemic.
It's interesting to note that at the same time as the CDC decided the H1N1 epidemic warranted no further testing for cases due to its epidemic status, Finnish health authorities actually downgraded the threat of swine flu.
In late July the health ministry and the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) in Finland actually removed swine flu from a list of diseases considered dangerous to the public because the majority of cases recovered without medication or hospital care!
And so, we are told here that states have stopped testing for the H1N1 flu virus because of the widespread epidemic. So this means that if people go to their doctor with flu-like systems, it will automatically be assumed that they have the H1N1 flu and thus it will be counted as such.
Therefore, everyone who has the flu and goes to their doctors is counted AS HAVING THE H1N1 FLU VIRUS! In most cases such people do not, but CDC has told states to stop testing for the virus and just assume that such people have the H1N1 virus. Doesn’t this just make you want to shout, “I am so glad my government is looking out for my safety? Where would I be without Big Brother in my life?”
CBS News Finds H1N1 Tests "Overwhelmingly Negative"
Before beginning their investigation, CBS News asked the CDC for state-by-state test results prior to their halting of testing and tracking. The CDC did not initially respond so CBS went to all 50 states directly, asking for their statistics on state lab-confirmed H1N1 prior to the halt of individual testing and counting in July.
What did they find? CBS reported:
"The results reveal a pattern that surprised a number of health care professionals we consulted. The vast majority of cases were negative for H1N1 as well as seasonal flu, despite the fact that many states were specifically testing patients deemed to be most likely to have H1N1 flu, based on symptoms and risk factors, such as travel to Mexico.

Barbara Loe Fisher, founder of the National Vaccine Information Center was a consumer representative on the FDA Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee in 2003, she asked the head of the influenza branch of the CDC how much of the flu-like illness that occurs in America every year is actually due to the flu.
The answer was about 20 percent, which corresponds more closely with the CBS News data from 2009.
According to the CBS News study, when you come down with chills, fever, cough, runny nose, malaise and all those other "flu-like" symptoms, the illness is likely caused by influenza at most 17 percent of the time and as little as 3 percent! The other 83 to 97 percent of the time it's caused by other viruses or bacteria.
So remember that not every illness that appears to be the flu actually is the flu. In fact, most of the time it's not.
Curiously, the CDC still advises those who were told they had 2009 H1N1 (and therefore should be immune to getting it again), to get vaccinated unless they had lab confirmation.
Folks, for those who had flu-like systems, only about three to seventeen percent had the actual flu virus, while remaining did not. Then those who were told that they had the H1N1 virus were also told to get the flu shot vaccine anyway. You see, once you have had the H1N1 virus, there is no need to get the vaccine because you cannot get the virus again. You had it already. You are immune. But the CDC said to such people, “You better take the vaccine anyway to be on the safe side.” Why would they say this? Because such people were not tested scientifically for the H1N1 virus, just simply told that they had it.
As I continued to watch Foxnews, I saw pictures of scores of people from various parts of the United States standing in long lines waiting for their flu shot. I was reminded how it would be possible for the government of the Antichrist to get so many people to go along with his scheme.
Here is a formula that I use whenever the government says anything. I hope you know and understand that not all that the government says is for your own good. How can one decipher and sift through the government’s rhetoric? Here’s what has helped me. I remember this simple formula:
1. Create a crisis
2. Nurse a fear
3. Establish yourself as the only solution
The above formula has been used to manipulate scores of unsuspecting people down through the centuries. Here is how it works.
Create a Crisis
If I want to manipulate masses amount of people to go along with my agenda, then the first thing I need to do is to manufacture a crisis. I believe global warming is one of those crises. I believe the state of our economy is another one. Don’t be fooled by such words as, “I inherited this mess.” The dirty little secret is that our present administration has worsen things. Think back. When did this all start? Was it during the Bush years? It started after a new administration came into power in both houses and in the white house. Yes, I do agree that Bush added to the problem, but Obama magnified it and created an even greater financial crisis. I also believe that this H1N1 is also another manufactured crisis our government has created to further its agenda. So this is the first place to begin – Create a crisis.
Nurse a Fear
People will not be willing to stand in long lines and blindly accept things that they normally would accept unless they were motivated by fear. Folks, FEAR is a strong motivator. Think about it. When fear plays a part in a person’s life, that person will do anything that they deem best for the moment. Therefore, with the help of the media, fear is nursed and nursed until everyone understands the seriousness and enormity of the situation. At this point people are asking for help. What are we to do? Who will help us?
Establish Yourself As The Only Option
Now the government can step in and say, “Don’t worry. We’ll take care of you. We got a plan. You will be safe and you will be taken care of if you follow our plan.” Thus you have the long lines and hordes of people willing to get themselves injected with the H1N1 vaccine.
Think about this in terms of the Environmental Movement and how many people and business have gone green simply because they were told that our planet was dying because of man-made global warming.
Here’s the thing to keep in mind. If the president were to ask you to give up 40 percent of your freedom you probably would say, “No way. Are you joking?” But if the president were to create a crisis, nurse a fear with the help of the media making you think that this is way out of hand, and then come up with a solution: “We have a plan. If you would be willing to give up 40 percent of your freedom, then we can successfully implement our plan and get us through this crisis.” Most people would be willing to do exactly that to show their part in helping to solve the crisis even though the crisis itself would be imagined. At the end of the day, you now are living with 40 percent less freedom and YOU were the one who chose to do so. “Yeah, but I was told that there is this crisis.” And rather than thinking through the ramifications, we bought into the game plan of those who use their power and authority to manipulate people in order to confirm to their agenda.
I have often thought to myself, “How can the antichrist get the whole world to accept a mark on their hand and forehead and get people to worship him in the process? No one in their right mind would settle for such a thing.
But if you begin now to condition people’s heart to accept a crisis, listen to the fear associated with it, and then see the plan of the government has the only solution to solving the crisis, after a while, accepting a mark on one’s forehead and being told you must worship the beast would not be such a major jump. It would only be a small step brought on by many series of other steps in the past that conditioned one’s heart for the greatest agenda of all – The worship of Satan.
“Oh, Pastor Rich, you are so out there, man. Are you not doing the same thing? Aren’t you creating a crisis, nursing a fear and then establishing yourself (i.e. your teaching as the only solution)?
No. I am pointing out what already exists in terms of a crisis. I am not creating anything. Second, I am pointing out how fear is used to manipulate people, and it does. Just look over your own life and you will see how fear either motivated or manipulated you to do all sorts of things, such as lie, cover things up, steal, etc. And finally, I am pointing out that the only solution is a whole hearted commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word. Jesus is the only solution to all of our crisis and His Word has all the answers that we need. If I am guilty of teaching this, I therefore, stand guilty and will not apologize for it.
Jesus mentioned in the bible two roads (Matt. 7:13-14), one was wide and it had a lot of people on it; the other was narrow and had only a few. Surely it would be smart to follow the majority because after all so many people could NEVER be wrong, right? But according to Jesus, the narrow road with the “few” was the ones on the road to life. Do not go by the walk or opinion of the masses. Nor simply go by the walk and opinion of a few, because even some cults number in only a few. But go by the opinion of God’s Word. If you do, you will not be led astray.
By the way, during the end times, concerning deception, Jesus had this to say: “For false Christ and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, EVEN THE ELECT” (Matt. 24:24).
As we get closer to the end times that the bible predicts will occur, Satan will pour out his best shots. You see, up until now, Satan has been holding back on some of his best shots concerning deception. But during the Tribulation, he will save his best deceptive practices for last. And such deceptions will appear so convincing, that even the elect (i.e. those who are saved) will wonder at times, “could this be from the Lord?”).
If the devil is conditioning people minds and hearts for his coming agenda by creating a crisis, nursing fears and establishing certain entities (that are not of God) as the only solution, then why not allow the Lord to create within you the condition to overcome the deception?
President Obama signed a proclamation declaring the H1N1 influenza a national emergency, giving doctors and medical facilities greater leeway in responding to the flu pandemic.
Obama signed the declaration late Friday, which the White House said allows medical treatment facilities to better handle a surge in flu patients by waiving federal requirements on a case-by-case basis.
I shook my head and laughed. Unbelievable and very predictable. And just a day before we were told by CBS news that there is no HINI emergency.
In case you missed reading about this, let me show you what CBS had written.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states on their main flu Web site http://www.cdc.gov/flu/ that flu activity is increasing in the United States, with most states reporting "widespread influenza activity."
The CDC goes on to say, quote:
"So far, most flu is 2009 H1N1 flu (sometimes called "swine flu")."
But wait. A three-month-long investigation by CBS News, released earlier this week that included state-by-state test results, revealed some very different facts. The CBS study found that H1N1 flu cases are NOT as prevalent as feared. A CBS article even states:
"If you've been diagnosed "probable" or "presumed" 2009 H1N1 or "swine flu" in recent months, you may be surprised to know this: odds are you didn't have H1N1 flu. In fact, you probably didn't have flu at all."
Obviously CBS News and the CDC are completely contradicting each other. So who is right?
Well, CBS reports that in late July 2009 the CDC advised states to STOP testing for H1N1 flu, and they also stopped counting individual cases.
Their rationale for this, according to CBS News, was that it was a waste of resources to test for H1N1 flu because it was already confirmed as an epidemic.
So just like that virtually every person who visited their physician with flu-like symptoms since late July was assumed to have H1N1, with no testing necessary because, after all, there's an epidemic.
It's interesting to note that at the same time as the CDC decided the H1N1 epidemic warranted no further testing for cases due to its epidemic status, Finnish health authorities actually downgraded the threat of swine flu.
In late July the health ministry and the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) in Finland actually removed swine flu from a list of diseases considered dangerous to the public because the majority of cases recovered without medication or hospital care!
And so, we are told here that states have stopped testing for the H1N1 flu virus because of the widespread epidemic. So this means that if people go to their doctor with flu-like systems, it will automatically be assumed that they have the H1N1 flu and thus it will be counted as such.
Therefore, everyone who has the flu and goes to their doctors is counted AS HAVING THE H1N1 FLU VIRUS! In most cases such people do not, but CDC has told states to stop testing for the virus and just assume that such people have the H1N1 virus. Doesn’t this just make you want to shout, “I am so glad my government is looking out for my safety? Where would I be without Big Brother in my life?”

One Child Per Family
A couple of days ago, I blogged that in December there will be a United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen on Dec. 7-18 in which a world government will be formed, according to Lord Christopher Monckton who told a Minnesota Free Market Institute audience on Thursday at Bethel University in St. Paul.
Now I want you to see another side of the environmental issue.
Andrew Revkin, who reports on environmental issues for The New York Times, floated an idea last week for combating global warming: Give carbon credits to couples that limit themselves to having one child.
Revkin participated via Web camera in an Oct. 14 panel discussion on “Covering Climate: What’s Population Got to Do With It” that was held at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. The other participants on the panel were Dennis Dimick, executive editor of National Geographic, and Emily Douglas, web editor for The Nation magazine.
“And I have even proposed recently. . .the single-most concrete and substantive thing an American, young American, could do to lower our carbon footprint is not turning off the lights or driving a Prius, it's having fewer kids, having fewer children," said Revkin.
When CNSNews.com later followed up with questions about his comments, Revkin responded in an e-mail.
Revkin wrote, “. . .if one were serious about the population-climate intersection, it'd be hard to avoid asking hard questions about USA population growth. By raising the notion of carbon credits for, say, single-child American families,” he continued, “I was aiming to provoke some thinking about where the brunt of emissions are still coming from on a per-capita basis.”
Revkin cited an August 2009 study by the London School of Economics that highlighted having fewer children as a solution to diminishing our carbon footprint.
The study was sponsored by the British activist group Optimum Population Trust, which advocates reduced population growth.
“More children equal more carbon dioxide emissions,” blogged Revkin. “And recent research has resulted in renewed coverage of the notion that one of the cheapest ways to curb emissions in coming decades would be to provide access to birth control for tens of millions of women around the world who say they desire it.
Furthermore, he blogged: “But the issue is one that is rarely discussed in climate treaty talks or in debates over United States climate legislation. If anything, the population-climate question is more pressing in the United States than in developing countries, given the high per-capita carbon dioxide emissions here and the rate of population growth. If giving women a way to limit family size is such a cheap win for emissions, why isn’t it in the mix?”
Comments: Do you see how ludicrous these people are? What country do you know that limits one child per family? Communist China, right? And with this sort of restriction in mind, what do most of the families in China seek to raise? A boy! Girls are aborted. If you are told to have only one child, why not have a boy? In the process, just keep aborting the girls until the boy shows up. Over there this is done because of the ideologies of the communist government regarding population control.
However, over here in the West, the same idea is being floated for the sake of saving the environment. You see, according to these far left environmentalists, humans are the greatest cause of destroying the environment. Why? Is it because they tend to cut too many trees down? No. Is it because they tend to drive gas guzzling cars? No. Is it because they enjoy far too many BBQs? No. Is it because they use far too much energy? No. Then what is it? It’s because humans contribute to the degeneration of the environment through their exhaling. That’s right. Every time a person exhales, carbon emissions enter the atmosphere. And if you have over six billion people exhaling carbon or CO2s, then according to these people, that’s by far the biggest reason for global warming.
Therefore, the cheapest way to save the environment is to strongly encourage (force will be used you can count on it) families to have one child and pay them for doing so. Can you see how radical this is?
So, in December, when the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen takes place and a one world government is formed, expect to see this idea made into law sometime shortly there after.
Now the bible does not specifically talk about population control, but it does discuss a great deal about being “fruitful and multiply” (Gen. 1:22, 28; 8:17; 9:1, 7). And add this to what we know – Satan will always go in the exact opposite of God’s commands. Remember, he is the great counterfeiter and he aims to create doubt and suspicion on what God says. (Example: “Has not God said. . .” Gen. 3:1).
So if God gives a cultural mandate to fill the earth, Satan will come along and create doubt, fear and suspicion so that God’s command is not carried out fully. This is what we have been seeing and it will only escalate.
Again, keep your eyes on the Climate Treaty in Copenhagen this December. Prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes.

The Means to a Global Government
Last Wednesday in St. Paul, Minnesota at Bethel University: A portion of remarks made by Lord Christopher Monckton regarding the United Nations climate change treaty. How will this be pulled off? Through climate control or better yet, through the Environmental Movement getting its way. It is all political folks. It is all designed with an agenda in mind. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.
Note: “The shore of the sea” (v. 1) is a symbolic reference to humanity. Notice where this global leader gets his power to rule – from the devil himself.
Second, with reference to a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.
Rev. 13:3 - 3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"
Note: There will be global worship of the beast or antichrist.
13:7 - 7He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast. . .
Note: The government of the beast has power and control over EVERY tribe, people, language and nation. How would it be possible for him to pull this off? Could it be through “climate control?” The UN Climate Change Treaty is a treaty that most world governments are expected to sign in Copenhagen in December 2009–including the United States. If it passes, we are that much closer to the events of the Tribulation Period in the Book of Revelation.

We’re getting closer and closer to the Rapture of the Church. How do I know this? Because we are getting closer and closer to the events which will occur in the Tribulation Period, especially the last three and one-half years. And since the Rapture of the church occurs before these events, it can only mean that Jesus is about ready to make the call.

A Perspective on Halloween
Note: Halloween is coming soon and the messages from pulpits, articles from Christians and common conversations will be on whether or not Christians should participate in Halloween. I believe every believer and family must make their own personal choice and when they do – either to participate or not to, it will be a good choice. There is neither a right nor wrong issue unless the choice is made with a wrong motive. The following article is taken from Randy Alcorn who is the founder of Eternal Perspective Ministries. In this article you will get a brief and informative historical perspective on Halloween and Randy’s thoughts on what he does at Halloween. My prayer for you is this: Make your choice carefully, thoughtfully and prayerfully. And remember, it is your choice. Do not judge those who choose differently. A Perspective on Halloween
The following letter, written from the perspective of the demon Ishbane, is from my novel The Ishbane Conspiracy, which I wrote with my daughters, Karina and Angela. In the book's context, one of the characters, Ian, is dabbling in the occult.
Yes, I am well aware this is a controversial issue. In my opinion, it is often either overstated or understated. And yes, on Halloween we do give out candy generously, and we enjoy the kids' costumes. For some Halloween is harmless. But there is another side to be aware of, which sucks in others. If you participate, I suggest choosing costumes carefully, and having appropriate conversations with your kids when they see the "dark side" depicted. I hope the following will be thought provoking, especially for parents of young children.

I’m pleased our favorite holiday’s coming up in a few weeks. Halloween! It’s official, Foulgrin—these vermin now spend more money on this holiday than any other except Christmas. For Ian and Daniel it served as a doorway to the occult. Dressing up as little devils. Bloodsucking vampires. The walking dead. Looking and acting as evil as possible. It may be cute to their parents, but in some cases, it’s just the foothold we need. Whether we’re celebrated or mythologized makes no difference...either way furthers our purposes. And since Halloween’s all about children and their impressionable minds, it couldn’t be more strategic.
I was a key figure in the early celebration of Samhain, from which their modern Halloween developed. Pagans believed the spirits couldn’t rest peacefully until given food and drink. This was a payment to the god who ruled the spirit world. Spirits were thought to roam the vicinities of their earthly lives seeking such treasures. On Samhain, the veil between the living and the dead was drawn back. On that night these wandering souls, in search of needed treasures, could visit and harass the living. Spirits would go to houses seeking the goods (“treats”) needed to find final rest. If a spirit wasn’t given a treat, it would “trick” or haunt the residents who refused to appease it. Pagans believed these harassing spirits could be deterred by carving fearful faces into pumpkins or squashes.
Of course, most of the vermin don’t understand this occult origin. And just enough innocence and fun have been infused to make it seem harmless. (And unfortunately to many it doesn't do the harm we wish it did.) But for many Halloween either glo¬rifies death or makes light of it. The Enemy neither glorifies death nor makes light of it. Halloween eclipses His portrayal of death and the afterlife.
We’ve mutated this holiday into an effective introduction to the dark side. Razor blades hidden in apples or poison hidden in candy pale in comparison to what we’ve hidden, for many, inside the holiday itself.

Things We Know
Note: Here is an article I wanted to pass on to you by Jack Kelly. We are living in uncertain times. God is bringing all of us to a place where we stop trusting in man and start trusting in God. And thinking like this: "I will trust in both God and man" will not cut it. No man can trust in two masters and give to both equal love and service. You and I have got to make choice. Here is an article that is designed to bring encouragement to your heart. Enjoy!
Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world. (Luke 21:26)
I realize that the above verse is meant for the Great Tribulation, but it came to mind as I read some of the “news reports” that have come across my screen this week. Here's a sample of what's currently going around.
1. The President and all of his men are lying through their teeth regarding the government's health care proposal. They plan to take over the insurance industry, require everyone to enroll, and appoint bureaucrats we'll never meet to determine the level of care we deserve.
2. People will take to the streets this fall in rebellion against the government's attempt to make flu shots mandatory.
3. The coming commercial real estate and credit card melt downs will be the worst yet.
4. By mid fall the talking heads on Sunday news shows will be openly using the word “depression” to describe our economic condition.
5. In a move to replace the dollar, banks will close for a few days soon to prepare for issuing new currency. When they reopen everyone will discover that the new currency is only worth 8-16 cents on the dollar.
6. The National Guard is recruiting people they can train to become internment/resettlement specialists, perhaps to man the internment camps that are being constructed across the country.
7. The government is working on a way to implement “preventive detention” programs to lock people up in advance for crimes they might commit.
These are just the reports I received from sources I have always believed to be credible. I won't even mention the ones I get from the “wing nuts” out there. I have no idea whether any of these claims are true. And that's part of the problem. I don't think there's one single unbiased information source left in this country. Everyone's pushing some kind of agenda. The middle ground seems to have totally eroded away, and people on both sides are becoming just plain mean to anyone who disagrees with them. This polarization of opinions has effectively put an end to any meaningful discussion.
As a result, a growing number of people believe that the government is trying to pull a fast one on us and they're upset. And when it seems like all the government does is attack those who criticize them, it makes people even more suspicious.
And that's what made me think of Luke 21:26. They say our greatest fear is the fear of the unknown and right now there's a lot that's unknown. So let's take a moment to review what we can know and focus on that.
We Know This
The first thing we know is that historically, God has always taken issue with those in leadership positions when their plans have run contrary to the welfare of His children. He had the Prophet Micah explain this in no uncertain terms.
Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning's light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it. They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud a man of his home, a fellowman of his inheritance.
Therefore, the LORD says, "I am planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity. (Micah 2:1-3)
Obviously Micah was speaking to Israel, but the parallels with current events are striking, and Paul did say that everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. (Romans 15:4) According to some, the biggest transfer of wealth in history has just taken place. Before this is over many will have had their homes and property seized and many more will have been defrauded of their inheritance.
But wait a minute, you say, fraud implies a dishonest intent. Indeed it does. Does any body believe the current financial meltdown, decades in the making, just snuck up on us? Were the best financial minds alive today all taken by surprise? Did those in the know suffer the loss of half their assets too? Where did all the money go?
On one day last week a panel of economists declared that the recession is over, and a major bank reported paying over $3 billion in bonuses to its senior staff. The next day we learned that retail sales for July had plunged unexpectedly and a record number of new unemployment applications had been filed. And the recession that's supposed to be over won't show us any solid proof of its demise until the middle of 2010. Are you feeling a little like a mushroom? (Kept in the dark and fed a bunch of manure?)
In effect the Lord had Micah tell the leaders of Israel, “You're lying in bed at night devising new schemes for defrauding my people? Fine. I'm lying in bed at night devising ways to punish you.” Who does history say won that contest? If it's going on again, who will win this one?
And We Know This
So if we're being victimized, the leaders responsible for doing it will get theirs. But the Lord has a message for the victims too, and that's the second thing we know. There are many versions of this message, and we've covered some of them before. King David wrote this one.
Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.(Psalm 37:1-4)
When evil men prosper, it doesn't have to be at our expense. The Lord has unlimited resources and by trusting in Him our heart's desires can be fulfilled regardless of what others do. We start by trusting in him (we yield our lives to Him) and doing good (literally, we're pleasant and agreeable toward Him). We dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture (we abide in Him and let Him provide for us). We also delight ourselves in Him (we let Him pamper us). As we do He gives us the desires of our heart (answers our prayers and petitions). Are you out of work, or worried that you soon will be? Are you losing your home or other assets? It might be a great opportunity to turn your life over to the Lord, and let Him do all the things He's always wanted to do for you. Remember, Jesus said, “I have come that they might have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) Still OK financially? Do it anyway.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. (Psalm 37:5-9)
We need only commit our hearts to Him and trust Him to do this. Even if it seems like wicked men are prevailing against us, we're to be patient and not get angry or lose hope. We can afford to be like the first century Christians who joyfully accepted the confiscation of their property, because they knew that they themselves had better and lasting possessions. Like them, we should not throw away our confidence; it will be richly rewarded. We need to persevere so that when we have done the will of God, we will receive what he has promised. (Hebrews 10:34-36)
Remember when Pharaoh's army had the Israelites trapped between the mountains and the Red Sea? The people felt betrayed and were terrified. They demanded that Moses explain how he had gotten them into such a mess.
Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” (Exodus 14:13)
That's still good advice. The Lord is not like us. He doesn't change His mind or break His commitments. (Numbers 23:19) The promises of Psalm 37 are still more certain than the most ironclad agreement you could ever negotiate on Earth. You only have to trust Him.
That's all we can do, and that's all we need to do. We can't trust our leaders, we can't trust the experts, we can't trust the media. We can only trust the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
This we know.

We need only commit our hearts to Him and trust Him to do this. Even if it seems like wicked men are prevailing against us, we're to be patient and not get angry or lose hope. We can afford to be like the first century Christians who joyfully accepted the confiscation of their property, because they knew that they themselves had better and lasting possessions. Like them, we should not throw away our confidence; it will be richly rewarded. We need to persevere so that when we have done the will of God, we will receive what he has promised. (Hebrews 10:34-36)
Remember when Pharaoh's army had the Israelites trapped between the mountains and the Red Sea? The people felt betrayed and were terrified. They demanded that Moses explain how he had gotten them into such a mess.
Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.” (Exodus 14:13)
That's still good advice. The Lord is not like us. He doesn't change His mind or break His commitments. (Numbers 23:19) The promises of Psalm 37 are still more certain than the most ironclad agreement you could ever negotiate on Earth. You only have to trust Him.
That's all we can do, and that's all we need to do. We can't trust our leaders, we can't trust the experts, we can't trust the media. We can only trust the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
